Obituary for James Ferrier Harris
James Ferrier Harris, 76, of Olanta, passed away Wednesday May 30, 2018, at his residence, after a lengthy illness.
Born July 13, 1941 in Philipsburg, he was the son of William and Margaret (Fulmer) Harris. Mr. Harris was retired as a machinist from McKee Carbide.
On October 28, 1989 in Bloomington, he wed the former Leita H. Anderson who survives along with 10 children: Deborah Harris and Vickey Evans and husband Jerry both of Clearfield, James Harris Jr., Robert Mayhew and wife Liz and Franklin Mayhew all of Olanta, Carolyn Bryan and husband Troy of Grampian, William Harris and Fiancée Amber Fogele of Altoona, Tim Mayhew and Kathy Cole and husband James both of Curwensville and Joy Howe of Brockway.
Also surviving are 42 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and 7 siblings: Richard Harris and wife Sue and Shirley McKee and husband John both of Olanta, Robert Harris of Clearfield, Eleanor McConnell of Reynoldsville, Donald Harris and Roy Harris both of Curwensville and Kenneth Harris of Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Terra Boal, a brother William Harris, an infant sister Irene Harris and sisters Ruby Rosato and Peggy Litzinger.
Funeral Services for Mr. Harris will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville On Saturday June 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM, with the Reverend George Cannon officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday May 31, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and again on Saturday from 9 AM until time of services at 10 AM.
The family suggests contributions ber made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
