Obituary for A. Preston McKee
A. Preston McKee, of Olanta, passed away Thursday July 7, 2011 at the Ridgeview Elder Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
 
Born January 10, 1929 in Bells Landing, PA, he was the son of Edward Lee and Ruth Virginia (Brown) McKee Sr.  Mr. McKee had worked for several trucking companies as a mechanic and also was part owner of the McKee Tractor Service Allis Chalmers.
 
He loved music and hunting, was a member of the Glen Richey Vol. Fire Dept., the Olanta Lutheran Church, and the Patriotic Order Sons of America.
 
He wed the former Bonetta Maxine “Mickey” Kerr on June 4, 1949 and who preceded him in death on June 18, 2011.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 grandsons Drew A. and Steven S. Edwards, a brother Donald and a sister Artensa.
 
Surviving are 4 children Linda Edwards and her husband Robert and Cindy Penvose and her husband Terry, both of Olanta, Preston McKee and his wife Eva of Grassflat and Dean McKee and his wife Deborah of Allport.
 
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a brother Edward McKee Jr. of Olanta, as well as aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral Services for Mr. McKee will be held at the Olanta Lutheran Church, Route 453 Olanta, PA, on Monday July 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM, with Mr. Gary Jewart officiating.  Interment will be in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville RD.
 
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Sunday July 10, 2011 from 7 to 9 PM, and Monday at the church from 10:30 AM until time of services.
