Obituary for Alda Ruth Luce
Alda Ruth Luce, 88, of the Greenville Pike, Grampian, passed away Wednesday January 11, 2012 at her residence.
Born November 4, 1923 in Bloom Township, Grampian PA she was the daughter of John Herald and Fairie Ellen (Spencer) Thomas. She was a homemaker. She was affiliated with the Lutheran Church in Rockton.
On October 3, 1941 in Luthersburg she wed Charles E. Luce who survives along with 3 children Mary Ann Wright and John “Jack” Luce both of Grampian, and Virgie Ellen Luce of Beverly Hills, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents a brother John Herald Thomas Jr., and sisters Daphne Cleaver, Alice Thomas, Janet Thomas and an infant sister Mary Caroline Thomas. She was the last member of her generation.
Funeral Services for Alda Luce will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Saturday January 14, 2012 at 1 PM with Reverend Charles M. Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Grampian.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Friday January 13, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Saturday from Noon till the time of services at 1PM.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Charity of the Donors Choice.
