Obituary for Alice Jean Gill
Alice Jean Gill, 90, of Curwensville, passed away Monday evening December 14, 2020 at Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
Born February 27, 1930 in Olanta, she was the daughter of Nathan and Clara (Benson) Johnson. Mrs. Gill had been a secretary, first for the former Bellmore Insurance Agency in Curwensville and after that for the Helmbold and Stewart Agency in Clearfield. She had also worked for the former Dot’s Restaurant in Curwensville.
She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Curwensville, had been a secretary for the church as well as a member of W.E.L.C.A. of Grace Lutheran. She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army/Red Kettle Campaign in Curwensville.
On October 1, 1955 in Winchester, VA, she wed Glenn J. Gill who survives along with a daughter Cindy Gill of Clearfield as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Dorothy Cathcart and Ellen Harm and brothers Robert and Carl Johnson. She was the last member of her generation.
Due to COVID-19 regulations, there will be no public visitation. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Curwensville.
Funeral Services will be conducted at a later date.
