Allen Lee “Tuffy” Stephens


Curwensville: Allen Lee “Tuffy” Stephens 71 of Curwensville passed away Friday December 22, 2023.


Born May 19, 1952 in Clearfield he was the son of Forrest Ray and Leota Marie (Kline) Stephens. He was a 1971 graduate of Curwensville Area High School. He owned and operated Stephens Trucking, also drove for George Simcox, Wallace Transportation, Lezzer Lumber, and Dilullo Transportation. He retired from Curwensville Boro as a Supervisor after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Masons Noble Lodge 480 of Curwensville.


He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.


On July 23, 1977 at Curwensville United Methodist Church he wed Susan (Swatsworth) Stephens who survives of Curwensville along with four children Clint Stephens (Danielle) of Curwensville, Adam Stephens (Bethany) Sanford NC, Tyler Stephens of Curwensville, Emily Elbel (Mark) of Sykesville. 8 grandchildren Isabelle Stephens, Wyatt Stephens, Spencer Stephens, Rylan Stephens, Weston Stephens, Lydia Elbel, Lilah Elbel, and Jensen Elbel. Brothers and sisters Janice Kelly (James) of Florida, Karen Wall (David) Grampian, and Jerry Stephens (Mary Ann) of Curwensville. And numerous nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents.


Funeral Services for Mr. Stephens will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Thursday December 28, 2023 at 1 PM with Pastor Scott Schultz officiating.


Friends and family will be received at the Funeral Home on Wednesday December 27, 2023 from 4-7 PM and on Thursday from 11 AM till the time of services at 1.


The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospital for Children at www.shrinerschildrens.org
