Obituary for Alma W. "Wink" Witherite
Alma Winifred “Wink” Pentz Witherite, 74, of Clearfield, and formerly of Grampian, passed away Monday February 6, 2012 at the Clearfield Hospital.  Born June 26, 1937 in Punxsutawney, she was the daughter of John Wesley and Beatrice (Deemer) Uplinger.  She had been employed as a phone Operator in Punxsutawney, and had worked at an electronics manufacturer in Reynoldsville.  She also was a homemaker. She was first wed to Edward Pentz who preceded her in death on February 19, 1984.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, and 7 brothers and sisters.  Kenneth Everett Uplinger, Bessie White, Brinton George Uplinger, Edward Uplinger, Mildred Beish, Wesley Uplinger and Dean Uplinger. Surviving is her second husband Lester Witherite whom she wed on May 15, 1994   and 4 children;  Joseph Pentz and wife Betsy of Grampian, Joyce Turner and husband Richard of Mt. Joy, Brenda Fye and husband Jack of Rebersburg, and Douglas Pentz and wife Maureen of Curwensville Also surviving are 10 grandchildren Andy Pentz and wife Melissa, Steve Pentz and wife Amanda, Chelsea Knepp and husband Christopher, Jill McBride and husband Nick, Matthew Turner and wife Jamie, Michael Turner, Lindsey Fye, Maddison Fye, Jacob Pentz and Cheyenne Pentz, 5 great grandchildren Zoey McBride, Andrew Pentz, Abby Pentz, Noah Pentz, and Allison Pentz,  and 2 brothers, John Uplinger and wife Kay of Seattle, WA and Guy Hallgren and wife Ginny of Corning, NY. Funeral Services for Alma Pentz Witherite, will be held at the Zion Baptist Church, Ansonville, on Saturday February 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Richard Engle officiating.  Interment will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Grampian. Friends will be received at the Church on Saturday from 10 AM until time of services. The family suggests contributions be made to the Hospice Circle of Friends c/o 286 Pauline Drive Clearfield, PA 16830. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.chidboyfuneralhome.com.  The Chester C.
