Alvin W. Barrett
Clearfield: Alvin W. Barrett 89 of Clearfield passed away Saturday December 31, 2022 at Knickerbocker Villa in Clearfield.
Born June 27, 1933 in Bell Township Bells Landing, PA he was the son of Walter H. And Alice M. (Johnston) Barrett. He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War. He retired from NARCO where he was an engineer.
He is survived by a daughter Alice E. Ostermeyer and her husband Curtis of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. 1 brother Frank Barrett (Diane) of Hepburnia, 3 sisters Phyllis Fry, of Irvona, Ruth Kuntzman, and Dolly Schull of NY.
He was also a former member of the Curwensville American Legion Post 505, Curwensville VFW Post 842, and Lifetime member of the Clearfield Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sally (Michaels) Barrett, parents, and brothers Edward, Richard, and William, and Sisters Dwinell “Dewey” Barrett, and Elizabeth “Sis” Fontenelli.
A memorial service for Mr. Barrett will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Saturday January 7, 2023 at 2PM with Mr. Gary Jewart officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Family and Friends will be received at the Funeral Home from 1-2 PM on Saturday prior to the service.
