Obituary for Ann Marie Smeal
Ann Marie Smeal, 78, of Morrisdale, Graham Township, passed away Tuesday July 26, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Born July 4, 1938 in Curwensville, PA, she was the daughter of Louis and Mary Elizabeth (Kula) Tkacik
On February 11, 1956 at St. Timothy’s Church in Curwensville she wed Fred H. Smeal. He preceded her in death on October 14, 1993 and her daughter Jacqueline Louise, on November 1, 2007.
Other family members preceding in death were her parents, sister Margaret Wiertel, and brothers Edward, Ludvik, George Tkacik.
Surviving are three children Debra A. Smeal of Bellefonte, Sharon Camise and husband John of DuBois and F. Mike Smeal and wife JoAnne of Curwensville, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
Sisters and a brother Agnes Flanagan and husband Arden of Olanta, Madeline Mary and husband Walter of Sun City, FL and John Tkacik and wife Karen of Curwensville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Smeal was a homemaker, was very faithful to her Roman Catholic upbringing, and enjoyed life with family and friends. She spent many recent years assisting and providing care to others. She enjoyed traveling, frequenting eateries, and talking on the phone.
Her first out of the house job was at a local family owned eatery known as Hamer's Restaurant.
She also was recognized in retail as an Avon Representative for over 42 years. During that time, she was a Leader in Sales, a member of their National Honor Society, and a member of Avon’s prestigious President’s Club for Excellence in Service.
She was very well known in the community. She was Judge of Elections for Graham Township
for many decades and enjoyed the time spent at the election hall.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church 306 Walnut Street Curwensville, PA on Saturday July 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM with the Reverend Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde, PA
The family suggests contributions be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
