Obituary for Anne V. Lash
Anne V. Lash, 77, of Curwensville, passed away Friday December 25, 2009 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born August 17, 1932 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of James and Inez (Hollingshead) Leech. Mrs. Lash was a 1953 graduate of the Clearfield Hospital School of Nursing and retired as an RN from the Clearfield Hospital.
She was a member of St, Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville and also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of the church. Mrs. Lash was also a member of the Clearfield Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.
On June 1, 1957 in Curwensville, she wed George John Lash who preceded her in death on August 6, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son James John Lash, and a sister Jane Leech.
Surviving are 5 children: Mary Jane Antoon and her husband Michael of Erie, Judy Shearer and her husband James of Keller, TX, Alan Lash and his wife Donna and Linda Shaffer and her husband Mark both of Curwensville, and David Lash and his wife Michele of Dover.
Also surviving are 9 grandchildren Jaclyn Shearer Calhoun, Jamie Shearer, Janessa Shearer, Jacob Shearer, Courtney Lash Wood, Samuel Antoon, Kevin Shaffer, Coulson Lash and Kalyn Lash, 2 great grandsons Gavin Wood and Adam Calhoun, and two sisters Donna Gillick of Woodbridge, NJ and Joan Mostyn of Philipsburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville, on Tuesday December 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Father Mark J. Mastrian as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde, PA.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Monday December 28, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, and Tuesday from 9 to 10:30 AM, when the procession will depart for the church.
The Rosary will be recited at 3:00 PM Monday with a Scripture Vigil Service to be conducted at 8:30 PM Monday, both at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to either St. Timothy’s Church 306 Walnut St. Curwensville, PA 16833, the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children 1645 W 8th St. Erie, PA 16505, or the Rescue Hose and Ladder Co. 408-410 Filbert St. Curwensville.
