Obituary for Annie LaRue Gardner
Annie LaRue Gardner, 85, of Stronach, passed away Saturday February 15, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
 
Born June 22, 1928 in Hepburnia, she was the daughter of William and Bessie (Hess) Wriglesworth.  LaRue had been employed by Kents Sportswear in Curwensville, and retired after 31 years of service.  She was a member of the Hepburnia United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, the choir, and was named United Methodist Woman of the year in 1999.  She was also a member of Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union Local 118C Curwensville.
 
On May 24, 1952 she wed Kenneth C. Gardner who preceded her in death on July 23, 1995.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Blair, Harold, and Teddy, sisters Thelma and Jane, and nieces Henrietta and Harrietta.  She was the last member of her generation
 
Surviving are nieces and nephews: Elva, Joice, R. Jess, Vernie, Lee, Linda, Janet, Eloise, Dean, Kenneth, Richard, Diane, Teddy, Boyd, Tom, Patty Sue, and Leslie.  Also surviving are numerous great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews.
 
Funeral services for LaRue Gardner will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Thursday February 20, 2014 at 1:00 PM, with the Reverends Wade R. Berkey and Todd T. Hogue co-officiating.  Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery Grampian.
 
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday February 19 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, and Thursday from 12 Noon until time of services. 
 
The family suggests contributions be made to the Hepburnia United Methodist Church.
