Obituary for Avenell M. Merry
Avenell M. Merry, 85, of Bloomington, Olanta RD. passed away Thursday January 21, 2010 at Ridgeview Elder Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
Born December 1, 1924 in Glen Richey, she was the daughter of Blaine and Marjorie K. (Rowles) Norris. Mrs. Merry was a homemaker, was a member of the Glen Richey Presbyterian Church, Amaranth, the Clearfield Eastern Star, and the Glen Richey Fireman’s Auxiliary.
On March 5, 1952 she wed William Merry and who preceded her in death on December 8, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers Reuben and William Norris.
Surviving are 4 daughters: Sandy L. Nelson and husband Randy “Butch” and Melanie J. Holland and her husband David Jr. both of Olanta, Tracy M. Bowman and her husband Rodney of Clearfield, and Bonnie K. Seyler and her husband Allen of Tucson, AZ.
Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Karl Norris and wife Maxine of Beltsville, MD, Harold Norris and wife Joyce of Cincinnati, OH, Eleanor Whitaker and her husband Fred of Tucson, AZ and Audrey Byron of West Decatur.
Memorial Services for Mrs. Merry will be held at the Glen Richey Presbyterian Church on Saturday January 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Pastor LeAnn Gill-Peters officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville RD.
Friends and family will be received at the Church from 10:00 AM Saturday, until time of services at 11:00 AM
