Clearfield: Bernard L. “Bernie” McCreadie 73 of Clearfield passed away Thursday September 26, 2024.
Born June 16, 1951 in Clearfield he was the son of Thomas and Kathleen (Brown) McCreadie. He was a graduate of St Francis School in Clearfield. He had worked at Johnson Machine for 20 years and retired from Cambria County after 25 years of service where he had served as 911 director and EMA Director of Cambria County.
He was a life member of Clearfield Fire Department where he was a Past Fire Chief.
He is survived by four children Brenda Sedgwick and her fiancé Matthew Guelich of Osceola Mills, Bridgit Fox (Eric) of Reading, Russell W. Sykes Vanessa of GA, and Ellie Ross (Michael) of Altoona. And 13 grandchildren.
On December 8, 1990 in Clearfield he wed Nancy A. (Bowes) McCreadie who preceded him in death on January 29, 2023. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a brother John “Jack” McCreadie. And a son in law Richard Sedgwick.
At the request of Mr. McCreadie services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in the Crown Crest Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donors choice.
