DuBois: Bertha M. “Penny” Bloom, 65, of Curwensville passed away Sunday February 8, 2026 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born May 29, 1960 in Clearfield she was the daughter of James and Helen (McKeown) Gillen. She was a homemaker.
She loved her family, loved telling stories. And enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by a son Rusty L. Gillen and his significant other Marley Sarra of Clearfield, and a daughter Renee L. Bloom of WV. Six grandchildren Madyson Gillen, Tanis Gillen, Kanika Bloom, Walter Gillen, Elsie Gillen, and Silas Dick. Two Sisters Virginia Guiher of FL, and Sylvia Shilling (Matthew) of Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother James Gillen, and a sister Mary Guiher.
There will be no public services. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
