Obituary for Beryl Loree Miles
Beryl Loree Miles, 93, of Bells Landing, Grampian, and formerly of Collingdale, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 12, 2011 at the home of her son Daniel Miles, with whom she made her home with, after a lengthy illness.
 
Born April 17, 1918 in State College, she was the daughter of Lawrence F. and Mary Beryl (Brouse) Womer.  She was a 1936 graduate of State College High School and then attended Penn State University majoring in accounting.  She was a homemaker for many years and then was employed by The Great A & P Tea Co. in Valley Forge, PA and retired from the Auditing Department in 1983.
 
In her retirement years, Beryl enjoyed painting, participating in Senior’s Club activities, and spending time with family and friends.  She was an unwavering Penn State football fan.
 
While attending Penn State, she met Daniel B. Miles whom she wed in January of 1941 and who preceded her in death on December 23, 1997.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Lawrence Jr., Robert, Thomas, and John Womer and a sister Betty Jo Shulock.  She was the last member of her generation. 
 
Surviving are three children; James Miles of Collingdale, Daniel W. Miles and his wife Jeannine of Grampian, and Mary Jo Garcia-Miles and her husband Fernando Garcia of Chelfont, PA.  Also surviving are three grandchildren; Steven Miles and Sara and Alex Garcia-Miles as well as several nieces and nephews.
 
At the request of Mrs. Miles, there will be no public visitation.  A private Memorial Services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
