Obituary for Betty Jane (Hawk) Turner
Betty Jane “Hawk” Turner, 93, of Lafayette, IN and formerly of Stronach, passed away Thursday March 30, 2017 at the Rosewalk Village at Lafayette Nursing Center in Lafayette, IN.
Born April 22, 1923 in Stronach, she was the daughter of Harvey and Alice (Riddle) Hawk. Mrs. Turner was a homemaker and also liked to build miniature furniture and collect old bottles. She had been affiliated with St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Grampian.
She wed Edward D. “Bud” Turner who preceded her in death on February 27, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five sisters Mary Elizabeth Seger, Sara Katherine Straw, Marie Witherite, Florence McCracken and Nell Breth.
Surviving are two brothers John Hawk and wife Dorothy of Florida and Richard Hawk and wife Pat of West LaFayette, IN as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Turner will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville4 on Monday April 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Ronald Emery officiating. Interment will be in the Watts Cemetery in Bell Landing.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday April 9 from 3 to 6 PM and again on Monday from 10 AM until time of services at 11:00- AM
