Obituary for Betty Lorraine Thurston
Betty Lorraine Thurston, 75, of New Millport, passed away Monday November 6, 2017 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born February 14, 1942 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of James J. and Ina Pearl (Proud) Irwin. Mrs. Thurston had worked as an assembler for the former Kent’s Sportswear, was a homemaker and was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in New Millport.
On August 3, 1963 in the Salem Lutheran Church she wed Roger Stanley Thurston who survives along with 4 grandchildren Israel Rain Thurston, Lindsay Nicole Thurston, Cecelia Pearl Thurston and Ethan James Luzier, a great grandson Isaick Thurston, 2 brothers and 2 sisters: Alice Jackson of Curwensville, Jesse James Irwin and wife Connie of Las Vegas, NV, George Irwin and wife Karen of the Carolina’s and Cindy McCall and husband Bob of Curwensville as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Roger J. Thurston and a young sister Anna Irwin.
Services for Mrs. Thurston will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Sunday November 12, 2017 at 3:00 PM, with Pastor Richard Steuernagle officiating. Interment will be in the Williams Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 PM until time of services at 3:00 PM.
