Born July 28, 1934 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of Fred S. Coder and Dorothy Louise (Hunt) Coder Fetzer. She had attended Clearfield Area High School. Mrs. Walder was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. She was a Christian.
On October 28, 1989 she wed R.W. “Walt” Walder who survives along with four children: Roger Dixon and wife Vera and Connie Mason both of Clearfield, Fred Dixon and his significant other Eleanor Dolan and Karen Ramsey both of Grampian, and a daughter-in-law Sandy Dixon of Clearfield.
Also surviving are 22 Grandchildren, 35 Great Grandchildren, a sister Joyce Cartwright and husband Daniel of Woodland, a brother Robert Coder of Hyde, as well as numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Paul Dixon, five sisters: Dorothy Hamm, Bonnie Puit, Shirley Cutler, Norma Desmett, and Delores Erhard and two brothers Fred Coder Jr. and Edward Coder.
Funeral Services for Betty Walder will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. * 300 State Street * Curwensville, PA 16833 on Saturday April 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM, with Reverends Scott Schultz and Daniel Osterhout co-officiating. Interment will be in the LaJose Cemetery in Newburg, PA.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday April 22, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Saturday April 23, 2022 from 10:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 PM.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
