Obituary for Beverly Rachel Thacik
Beverly Rachel Thacik, 75, of Curwensville, passed away Wednesday morning September 19, 2012 at her residence after a lengthy illness.

Born November 27, 1936 in Morgan Run, West Decatur RD, she was the daughter of Arthur and Gracie (Yarger) Philips. Mrs. Thacik was retired from the former Kent’s Sportswear in Curwensville, after many years of service as a button sewer. She attended St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville and was an avid gardener.

On June 28, 1963 in Curwensville, she wed Thomas J. Thacik who survives along with 4 sons. Greg Thacik and his fiancée Tracy Bell of Curwensville, Arthur Mains and his wife Marlene of Franklin, Audie Maines of Greencastle, and James Maines and his wife Janet of Chambersburg.

Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 4 brothers and 2 sisters: Samuel Philips and companion Iva Bush of Morgan Run, Foss Philips and companion Eddy Gonzales of Bigler, Ron Philips and wife Jackie of West Decatur, James Philips and wife Carolyn of Morgan Run, Dorothy Morris of Woodland, and Carol Beck and husband Gilbert of Houtzdale.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers Murph and Stanley Philips and 2 sisters Faye and Mabel Philips.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Thacik will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Saturday September 22, 2012 at 12:00 Noon, with the Reverend Father Mark J. Mastrian officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services at noon.
