Obituary for Catherine Ann Richards
Catherine Ann Richards 101, of Curwensville passed away Wednesday February 24, 2010 at the Ridgeview Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness.
Born July 12, 1908 in Curwensville she was the daughter of Harvey and Katie (Zipf) Cook. She was a Teacher for the Curwensville Area School District where she taught in Grampian. She was Presbyterian by faith. She was a past member of the Curwensville Women’s Club, and the Clearfield-Curwensville Country Club.
On September 12, 1930 in Waren, Ohio she wed James Howard Richards who preceded her in death on May 15, 1997. She was preceded in death by a sister Frances Shaffer, a brother Ellis Cook and an infant brother. She was the last member of her generation.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
At the request of Mrs. Richards there will be no public viewing.
A public Memorial Services will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Tuesday March 2, 2010 at 11 AM with Mr. Gary Jewart officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donors choice.
