Altoona: Charles W. Lankford, 64, of Altoona passed away Tuesday February 10, 2026 at his residence.
Born February 4, 1962 in Gary, Indiana he was the son of John W. and Mary L (Fortner) Lankford. He had worked in the steel mill and worked for Robinson Steel Co. as a heavy equipment operator.
He had coached his sons in Little League.
Surviving are three sons Michael (Tara) Lankford, Matthew Lankford, and Marc Lankford all of Indiana. Step children Nichole Shearer (Christopher Light), Shawn Shearer Jr. (Andrea Shearer). 2 grandchildren Chase, and Nevaeh Lankford. 8 step grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild. Brothers and sisters Imo (Jim) Abad, Nancy Wallace, Dorothy Jenkins, John (Joanne) Lankford, Barb (Joe) Vrska, Donna Grimes, and Ray (Debey) Lankford. And family friends Shawn Shearer Sr. (Dawn Henry)
He was preceded in death by his parents and fiancée Patricia L. Shearer.
Viewing for Charles Lankford will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Sunday February 22, 2026 from 2-4 PM. Interment will be held in the Messiah Baptist Cemetery in Morrisdale.
