Obituary for Cheryl A. Matthews
Cheryl A. Matthews, 62, of Glen Richey, passed away Friday August 10, 2018 at her residence.
Born September 18, 1955 in Ashland, OH, she was the daughter of Kenneth “Don” Bowers and Marilyn (Michaels) Bowers Pacheco. Mrs. Matthews had been a care nurse and had worked for Mt. Laurel Healthcare and Rehabilitation center in Clearfield. She was a member of the Faith Bible Church in Lumber City, PA.
On November 20, 1976 in Ashland, OH, she wed Dale J. Matthews who preceded her in death on February 29, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her father.
Surviving is her mother of Glen Richey, 4 children: Kim Matthews of Clearfield, Ken Matthews and wife Windy of Glen Richey, Ernie Cline and wife Christi of Austin, TX, and Eric Cline and wife Allison of North Carolina.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren: Christina Jordan, Tallon Cline, Morgan Green, MacKenzie Matthews, Gannon Matthews, Remy Matthews, Libby Cline, Addy Cline, Maureen Cline, Scarlett Cline and Lilly Cline, and 2 great grandchildren: Aria Bloom and Maddox McBride.
In addition, there are 4 sisters and a brother: Juanita Rowles and husband Donald of O’Shanter, Charlotte Hanning of Glen Richey, Tammy Fincher and husband Rick of NC and Nancy Shaffer and husband Jack and Donald Bowers and significant other Betsy, both of WV.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Matthews will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Thursday August 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Scott Schultz officiating. Interment will be in the Thompson Cemetery in Glen Richey.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday August 15 from 5 to 8 PM and again on Thursday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM.
The family suggests contributions be made to either the Orphans of the Storm 412 Hill Street Curwensville, PA 16833 of the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
