Clair O. Neeper
Clearfield: Clair Oscar Neeper 90, of Colonial Courtyard Clearfield and formerly of Curwensville, went to be with the Lord Sunday January 8, 2023.
Born August 6, 1932 in Curwensville he was the son of Dorsey and Rhoda (Peters) Neeper. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Fort Knox and Germany.
Surrounding his time serving in the military, he was a man of many trades working in various construction businesses, as a police officer with the Curwensville Police Department, a Forest Fire Warden for over 40 years and eventually retiring from the Curwensville School District after 28 years of service where he served as Superintendent of Grounds during that time. In his retirement he continued to serve the school district working as a bus driver and a security officer at many school functions and sporting events.
Oscar was a life time member the Rescue Hose and Ladder Company , Curwensville Fire Police, the Curwensville American Legion post 505, Curwensville VFW post 842, Curwensville Moose Lodge 268
On October 21, 1955 in Curwensville, he wed Shirley Decker who survives. Together they had four children Linnette Bacharach and husband William of Clearfield, Alan Neeper of Curwensville, Melanie Rorabaugh and husband Roger of Mahaffey, and Gregory Neeper and wife Christene of Clearfield.
In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by 12 grandchildren Heather Mackey and significant other Devon Tarner, William Bacharach and wife Lora, Renea and Nicholas Neeper, Christopher Clark, Elliot Neeper and wife Olivia, Jilli Ann Neeper, Tessa Kovalick and husband Nicholas, Roger Rorabaugh and wife Elena, Sam Rorabaugh wife Megan, Claire Tonnesen husband Brandon, and Caleb Rorabaugh. 6 great grandchildren Madalinn, Noah, Olivia, Everett, Canaan, and Elon. 5 step great grandchildren.
Also surviving are brothers, Leroy and wife Nancy, Doylin, Wayne and wife Pat, Wilbur and wife Jeannie, sisters Beulah McDonald and husband John, Marion Shimmel.
He was preceded in death parents, brothers Blair Neeper and Allen Lynn Neeper, sisters Emma Leota Johns, and Eva Mae DuFour. A daughter in law Teri Neeper, sister in laws Diane, Patty, and Beverly Neeper and a brother in laws Norman Shimmel, Robert DuFour, and Joe Johns.
A public Memorial Service will be held on Friday February 3, 2023 at 12PM at the Curwensville Alliance Church with Pastor Steven D. Shields officiating.
Friends will be received at the Church from 11:00 AM till the time of services at Noon.
