Obituary for Clarence Tracy (Sonny) Bennett
Clarence Tracy “Sonny” Bennett, 82, of Curwensville, passed away Tuesday April 14, 2015 at Ridgeview Elder Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
 
Born October 15, 1932 in Forksville, Sullivan County, PA, he was the son of Howard and Lettie (Huffsmith) Bennett.  Mr. Bennett was retired from the former Ames Department stores as a store manager.  After retirement he had worked for Lezzer Lumber Co. in Curwensville, the PA Dept. of Transportation Photo Licensing Center in Clearfield, and also the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging in their “Meals on Wheels” program.
 
He was a member of St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville and was a U S Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.
 
On November 26, 1953 in Williamsport, PA, he wed the former Pauline Mary Callahan who preceded him in death on July 28, 2011 in Pittsburgh.  He was also preceded in death by his parents.
 
Surviving is a son Patrick E. Bennett and wife Denise of Curwensville, 2 grandsons Daniel Bennett and wife Missy of Hollidaysburg and Joseph Bennett and wife Michelle of Grampian, 4 great grandchildren Alison and Matthew Bennett both of Hollidaysburg, Judson and Lillian Bennett both of Grampian, and 2 brothers Russell Bennett and wife Rosemary of Forksville and Jack Bennett and wife Bonnie of Dushore.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville on Friday April 17, 2015 at 10 AM, with the Reverend Father Mark J. Mastrian as Celebrant.  Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville, PA.
 
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Thursday April 16 from 4 to 8 PM, and again on Friday from 9 to 9:30 AM, when the procession will depart for the church.
 
The Rosary will be recited by members of St. Timothy’s Altar and Rosary Society Thursday at 4 PM and a Scripture Vigil Service will be conducted Thursday at 8 PM both at the funeral home.
 
The family suggests contributions be made to St. Timothy’s Altar and Rosary Society 306 Walnut Street Curwensville, PA 16833.
