Obituary for Constance L. (Connie) Norris
Connie L. Norris, 93, of Curwensville, passed away early Saturday Morning January 4, 2014 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born February 4, 1920 in Lumber City, she was the daughter of George Oliver Sr. and Ruth Marie (Wike) Riddle. Mrs. Norris had worked as a salesclerk for the former Claire Shop and also the former Buzzard’s Stationary Store in Curwensville. She was a member of the Curwensville First Baptist Church and also was an avid league bowler at the former Curwensville Lanes.
On May 31, 1940 in Curwensville, she wed George Franklin Norris who preceded her in death on October 1, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers George Jr., Norman, James, and Richard Riddle and a sister Peggy Braman.
Surviving are 2 daughters Linda Thomas and Debra Wright and husband John both of Curwensville, 4 grandchildren James Thomas of Rockton, Cheri Thurstin of Curwensville, Mary Sellers of State College and Brad Bressler of Greensburg. 8 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, a sister and brother. Kathryn “Kay” Husak and Harry Riddle and wife Elsie both of Curwensville.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Norris will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Tuesday January 7, 2014 at 2 PM, with the Reverend Daniel Osterhout officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde, PA.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 PM until time of services at 2 PM.
