Obituary for Curtis A. McKenrick
Curtis A. McKenrick, 80, of Edson, KS, and formerly of Grampian, passed away Wednesday May 20, 2009 at his residence.
Born September 18, 1928 in Collegeville, PA, he was the son of Thomas and Nora McKenrick. Mr. McKenrick was a teacher, having taught in the Wallace, Edson, Harrison Flats, Brewster, and Goodland, KS schools, retiring in 1990. He attended school in Grampian, and was a 1947 Graduate of Clearfield High School. He attended Nyack New York Bible College and then attended the Emporia Teachers College, Emporia, KS, where he received a BS in 1960. He then attended Michigan State University and received his Masters Degree in 1970.
Mr. McKenrick was a member of the Goodland Bible Church, the Tumbleweed Chorus, and was the director of Youth for Christ in Colby and Oakley, KS for many years.
Surviving is his wife Roselda McKenrick at home, a son Daniel McKenrick and wife Rita of Sarasota, FL, and a daughter Leana Stefan McKenrick of Longview, TX, as well as 4 granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Kiel, brothers Orvis, Albert, and Delmont McKenrick, and a sister Margretta Covert.
Funeral Services were held today, May 26, at the Goodland Bible Church in Goodland, KS.
Graveside Services for Mr. McKenrick will be held at the Wood Cemetery, Route 219 North, Grampian, PA, on Thursday May 28, 2009 at 2:00 PM, with the Reverend Gust J. Maderia Jr. officiating.
Memorials may be sent to the Bateman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 278, Goodland, KS 67735, and will be designated by the family at a later date.
