Obituary for Daniel Joseph Greenland
Daniel Joseph Greenland Sr., 53, of Woodland, and formerly of Clearfield, passed away Wednesday July 25, 2012 in Cranberry Township, Butler County.
Born August 12, 1958 in Clearfield, he was the son of Matthew H. and Janice A. (Kane) Greenland. He was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School and also received his electrical Certification from Jeff Tech in DuBois.
Mr. Greenland was Co-Owner, Vice President, Safety Director as well as the Drug and Alcohol Supervisor of Greenland Construction of Clearfield. He was also Co-Owner and Vice President of Diverse Innovations Group, Inc. and Co-Owner and president of Diverse Land Company, LLC both of Clearfield, and was a partner in Trusstank LLC He also was an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church.
Mr. Greenland was a member of the Clearfield Eagles, the Clearfield S.O.I., the Clearfield L.O.O.M., the Clearfield VFW, and a life member of the Chinklacamoose Chapter of A.B.A.T.E.
On January 20, 1990 he wed the former Sherry S. Spencer who survives along with his parents of Rockton, 4 children Bethany Livergood and husband Bob, Daniel J. Greenland Jr., Mikhail B. Greenland, and Nikki J. Greenland all of Woodland and his “adopted son” Ray Bloom of Curwensville.
Also surviving are 5 grandchildren Rex and Cheryl Livergood, Brody & Milo Swanson, and Eli Daniel Barrett, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Marybeth Howell of Rockton, Timothy D. Greenland and wife Catherine and Robert F. Greenland and wife Franny both of Clearfield, and Melissa Keen and husband Joel of DuBois.
He was preceded in death by a son Matthew R. Greenland and his former wife Cheryl (Turner) Wellar.
Funeral Services for Mr. Greenland will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Monday July 30, 2012 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Stephen Shields officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday July 29 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, and again on Monday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to either the Clearfield County S.P.C.A, the Chinklacamoose Chapter of A.B.A.T.E., or the charity of the donor’s choice.
