Darlene M. McCracken, 74, of Kerrmoor, passed away Sunday July 10, 2016 at Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Curwensville.Â

Born August 29, 1941 in Greely, Colorado, she was the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Berky) Dhooge. Mrs. McCracken graduated from nursing school in 1970 as a Licensed Practical Nurse, but was mostly a mother and homemaker.Â
Â
On March 9, 1962 she wed Raymond B. McCracken which began her journey as a career military wife. Â Â There were blessed with five children: Eugena Witherite of Kerrmoor; Shannon Kinsler, Derek McCracken and Fred McCracken all of Newville; and Patrick McCracken of Lexington, OK.

Also surviving are 9 grandchildren: Keegan Prisk, Cody Witherite, Garrett Witherite, Lucas McCracken, Tiffany Williams, Dustin Witherite, Jeremy McCracken, Kyle McCracken and Katelyn McCracken; 8 great grandchildren Teague and Nora Prisk, Kayden Witherite, Ethan McCracken, Nicki Lathrop, Breilyn Williams and Kenlee and Reagan Witherite; a sister and four brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. McCracken will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Thursday July 14, 2016 at 11:00 PM, with the Reverend Richard Engle officiating.Â
Â
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and again on Thursday from 10 AM until time of services.
