Dawn D. Reed
DuBois: Dawn D. (Spencer) Reed, 54, of Grampian passed away Friday March 20, 2026 at Penn Highlands DuBois, surrounded by her loved ones.
Dawn was the beloved wife of Ricky Reed of Grampian, with whom she shared 34 wonderful years of marriage filled with laughter, tons of beautiful memories, and unwavering companionship. She was a proud and loving mother to Kelsey Reed, Cody Reed and his significant other Jennah all of Grampian. And adoring grandmother to Emerson, who brought her endless joy with his big cheeky smiles. She is also survived by her brothers Todd Spencer and Eddie Spencer (Carolyn).
Dawn had a way of making life brighter- and a little more interesting. She believed in the magic of the world around her, often talking about the beauty of the Majestic Forest and the creatures that lived just beyond sight. She loved face timing her best friend, Amy McGee-better known as “Sister Pea”- where no conversation was ever too long an laughter was guaranteed. She was wonderfully creative and loved making crafts, each one filled with personality-just like her. She was also a proud Slytherin at heart, and if you ever heard her attempting to speak Parseltongue, you knew you were in for a good laugh. It was just one of the many ways she made people smile. Dawn will be remembered for her unmistakable laugh, her beautifully vibrant red hair, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved. She didn’t just live life- she added a little extra sparkle (and a bit of mischief) to it.
She was preceded in death by her parents Duane and Joyce Spencer.
In keeping with her family’s wishes, funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville with Pastor Dave Ervine officiating. She will be laid to rest at Friends Cemetery in Grampian.
Though she may begone from out sight, her laughter, her stories, and her unique spirit will stay with us always, and we will think of her every time we hear the wind through the trees, or a suspicious hiss that sounds just a little too intentional.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to an animal shelter of the Donor’s Choice.
