Obituary for Dollie Louise Matthews
Dollie Louise Ellinger Matthews, 90, of Morgantown,WV, and formerly of Grampian, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at her home.
Born April 3, 1928 at Grampian, she was the daughter of George and Margaret (Shaw) Ellinger.
Mrs. Matthews was a homemaker and also worked with her husband until retirement as a bookkeeper for Big M Coal Co. in Kingwood,WV.
She wed Howard R. Matthews on July 6, 1946. She is survived by three daughters, Yvonne Lansberry and husband William of London, Ohio, Janelle Savage and husband James of Clarksburg, WV, and Paulette Neese of Morgantown, WV.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Brian Savage and wife Grace, Darcie Scott and husband Jamie, Andrienne McCracken and husband Brent and Sarah Downey; six great-grandchildren , Devon Cunningham, Emily Savage, Kaylee Scott, Keegan McCracken, Lauren Downey and Ayslynn McCracken; as well as several nieces, nephew s and cousins.
Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard on February 20, 2015; a sister Carolla and husband, John D. Hoyt.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., Curwensville, on Sunday, December 23, at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Edward Gresick officiating. Interment will be at the Friends Cemetery, Grampian.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Sunday, December 23, from 12 noon until the hour of services.
The family suggests contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
