Obituary for Dorothy C. Leach
Dorothy C. Leach, 90, of Curwensville and recently a resident of Marion Manor in Curwensville, passed away Friday August 26, 2016 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA
Born July 6, 1926 in Grampian, she was the daughter of Warner and Oleta (Bonsall) Chelgren. Mrs. Leach was a homemaker, was a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church where she had been a member of the United Methodist Women, had been the former secretary for the church and for a time was the director of the senior exercising group that met at the church. She also was a former driver for the CCAAA “Meals on Wheels” Program.
She had wed Dr. Leslie D. Leach, PhD who preceded her in death on June 11, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Aimee M. Leach a son Eric Leach, a brother Walter Chelgren and two sisters Helen Hepburn and Margaret Bachelier. She was the last member of her generation.
Surviving is a son David L. Leach and his wife Barbara of West Mifflin, PA, four grandchildren Lindsay Sparks and husband Michael, Eric Leach, Ryan Leach and Jayme Leach and a great granddaughter Helena Sparks.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Leach will be held at the Curwensville United Methodist Church 602 State Street Curwensville on Wednesday August 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Dr. Robert S. Ludrowsky officiating. Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery in Grampian.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Tuesday August 30 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, and again on Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM when the procession will depart for the church.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Western PA Chapter 810 River Avenue Suite 100 Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
