Obituary for Dorothy C. Schonwalder
Dorothy C. Schonwalder, 96, a resident of Ridgeview Elder Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville, and formerly of Curwensville, passed away Thursday February 19, 2015 at Ridgeview.

Born March 1, 1918 in Shiloh, Bradford Township, she was the daughter of Doran and Nancy (Cowfer) Maines. She was retired from the Clearfield Area School District after 20 years of service, having worked in the cafeteria. She was a member of the Centre Grove United Methodist Church.Â

On December 31, 1934 she wed Fred B. Schonwalder who preceded her in death on March 2, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 8 sisters, 6 brothers, and several nieces and nephews.

Surviving are 2 daughters Catherine L. Klopp of Curwensville and Violet M. Curley and husband John of Clearfield. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild, 3 great great grandchildren, and a sister Winifred L. Maines of Philipsburg.

Friends and family will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Monday February 23 from 1 to 4 PM. At the request of Mrs. Schonwalder funeral services will be private.
