Obituary for Dr. John Ward Rich
Dr. John Ward Rich, 70, of Bells Landing, passed away Thursday August 18, 2011 at his residence.

Born September 20, 1940 in Greenwood Township, Redden Hill, he was the son of James Franklin Sr. and Mildred Irene (Wood) Rich. He was a 1958 graduate of Warren Area High School, and then attended the Jamestown Community in Jamestown, NY.Â

After working for the Buffalo-Allegheny China Factory in Clarendon, PA, he attended the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa graduating in 1983. He first was an associate in the Rich Chiropractic Clinic in Clearfield from 1984 to 1987 and he then opened his own Chiropractic Clinic in McElhatten, PA from 1987 until his retirement in 1993.

Surviving are a brother and 4 sisters. Helen B. Rudisill and her husband Raymond of York, Dr. Joseph K. Rich and his wife Sylvia of Moline, IL, Beverly M. Wooster and her husband Clinton of Reno, NV, Shirley Casses of Mill Hall, and Nancy J. Bender and her husband Dr. Charles of Ridgeway.

Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers James F. Rich Jr. and Dr. Clark E. Rich, and a sister Dorothy Hile.

Memorial Services for Dr. Rich will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. in Curwensville on Saturday August 27, 2011 at 2:00 PM, with the Reverend W. Dean Krause officiating. Interment will be in the Watts Cemetery, Curwensville RD.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM until time of services at 2:00 PM.
