Obituary for Dr. Joshua D. "Josh" Casteel, DC
Dr. Joshua Dwight “Josh” Casteel, DC, of Punxsutawney, and formerly of Curwensville, passed away early Saturday Morning, January 9, 2010 as the result of a snowmobile accident.
He was born May 11, 1978 in Pike Township, Curwensville RD, the son of Dr. Gary M. and Vickie L. (Forcey) Casteel. He attended Penn State and Scott Community College and received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. While at Palmer he was a member and President of the Professional Chiropractic Society Pi Kappa Chi Fraternity.
He owned and operated the Casteel Chiropractic Center in Punxsutawney, was a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church, was a member and served on the Board of Directors of the Hill Top Howlers Snowmobile Club, and was a former member of Boy Scout Troop 13 of Curwensville.
Surviving are his parents of Pike Township, Curwensville RD, a sister Dr. Keely L. Casteel of Curwensville, and two brothers Dr. Joel M. Casteel of State College, and Dr. Ian T. Casteel of Indiana.
Also surviving is his Paternal Grandparents Dr. Donald and Zaneth Casteel of Clearfield, his maternal grandmother Kathleen Forcey of Clearfield, as well as numerous relatives on both his maternal and paternal sides of the family.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Dwight Forcey.
A Memorial Service for Dr. Casteel will be held at the Curwensville United Methodist Church 602 State St. Curwensville, PA on Monday January 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM with the Reverends Kenneth Alt and Josh Maines co-officiating.
Friends will be received at the church on Monday from 1:00 PM until time of services.
