Obituary for Estelle Stella Kopec
Estelle “Stella” Kopec, 99, of Clearfield, and formerly of Curwensville, passed away Tuesday evening March 10, 2015 at Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital.
Born April 22, 1915 in Curwensville, she was the daughter of John Peter and Aniela (Pajura) Kopec. She was the retired co-owner of the former Ondish’s Bar and Grill in Curwensville and was a member of St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville.
Surviving is a niece Kathleen Kovaleski and husband Chester of Westwood, NJ, 2 great nephews Chester Kovaleski Jr. and Steve Gorski a great niece Cheryl Bach, and several great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather Matthew Kupka; 2 brothers John C. Kopec and Karl A. Kopec; 3 sisters Anna E. Ondish, Helen Nypower, and Dr. Pauline Coulter; and 3 step brothers Matthew, Thomas, and John Kupka.
Family and Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville, PA on Friday evening March 13 from 6 to 8 PM. A Scripture Vigil Service will be conducted at 8 PM Friday at the funeral home by Reverend Father Mark J. Mastrian.
A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville, at the convenience of the family with Reverend Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde, PA.
The family suggests contributions be made to either St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church 306 Walnut Street Curwensville, PA 16833 of the charity of the donor’s choice.
