Obituary for Ethel Marie (McCartney) Haugen
Ethel Marie (McCartney) Haugen, 87, of DuBois, and formerly of Oklahoma and Grampian passed away Sunday December 13, 2020 at her residence.
Born September 3, 1933 in Grampian, she was the daughter of Thomas Edward and Annie Mary (Clark) McCartney. Mrs. Haugen was a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in both Pennsylvania and Oklahoma.
She was a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. While in Oklahoma she was a member of St. Agnes Roman Catholic in Anthers, OK and when she returned to Pennsylvania she was a member of St. Catherine Roman Catholic Church in DuBois.
Surviving are 2 daughters: Lisa Ann Haugen Roe and husband Michael and Kristi Haugen Panion and husband Ronald both of Missoula, MT. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren: Brett Hoffman, Veronica Quamme and Grant Panion and 2 sisters. Edith Wheeler and husband Virgil of Walltown and Ruth Dunlap of DuBois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Kermit Haugen, her husband, brothers Paul, Leo, Martin, James, Edward, Patrick, and Neil McCartney and a sister Margaret McCartney Hogan.
There will be no public visitation and a private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catherine Roman Catholic Church in DuBois with Msgr. Richard Siefer as Celebrant. Interment will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Grampian.
The family suggests contributions be made to either St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church or St. Bonaventure Cemetery c/o 306 Walnut Street * Curwensville, PA 16833.
