Obituary for Floyd William Walburn
Floyd W. Walburn 86, of Grampian passed away Thursday November 19, 2009 at the Ridgeview Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.
Born May 4, 1923 in Grampian he was the Son of Earl and Lenora (Coons) Walburn. He was employed as a bulldozer operator for Benjamin Coal Company. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He was also a member of the Curwensville VFW Robert Ferguson Post #842
He is survived by his wife, the former Patricia (Warholic) Spencer of Grampian, children Mary Jane Mahlon and her husband Harry of Grampian, and Richard Walburn of Clearfield. Step Children JoAnn Spencer, Kathryn Greene, Susan Gorman, Daniel Spencer, Robert Spencer, Joel Spencer, and Lori-Ann Spencer. 3 grandchildren, 14 Step Grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.Brothers and sisters Ralph “Jack” Walburn and his wife Teresa, Frank Walburn and his wife Mary, and William “Bill” Walburn and his wife Geraldine all of Grampian, and a sister Elsie Emanuelson of Brockway.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son David Walburn, and a brother Albert Walburn and 3 sisters Emma Walburn, Mary Walburn, and Lucy Welder.
Services for Mr. Walburn will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Saturday November 21, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Kenneth Sherwood officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the Funeral Home by members of the Clearfield VFW Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the Funeral Home on Friday November 20, 2009 from 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 10AM till the time of services at 11:00 AM.
