Obituary for Frances Elverda O'Dell
Frances Elverda O’Dell, 97, of Curwensville, passed away Wednesday November 6, 2013 at her residence.
Born June 7, 1916 in Lumber City, she was the daughter of David and Ada (Selfridge) Ferguson. She was retired from Bayer Clothing/Kent Sportswear of Curwensville and was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Bloomington.
On October 16, 1937 in Curwensville, she wed Franklin O’Dell who preceded her in death on May 8, 1980. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother Vincent Ferguson, a sister Margaret Caldwell, and son-in-law Raymond Mattingl
She was the last member of her generation.
Surviving are 2 daughters Carolyn Sue Mattingly of Loveland, OH and Peggy Hill and husband Rev. James of Daphne, AL. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren Beth Mattingly of Ohio, Dan Hill of CA, Dave Hill of TX and Pamela Hartman of MO, and 10 great grandchildren.
Private family Graveside Services were held in the chapel of Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde at the convenience of the family. Interment followed in the cemetery.
At the request of Mrs. O’Dell there was no public visitation.
