Obituary for Glenn Edward Reiter
Glenn Edward Reiter, 90, of Curwensville, passed away Wednesday July 10, 2013 at his residence.
 
Born November 19, 1922 in Sykesville, he was the son of James and Edna (White) Reiter.  After attending floral design school in Boston for 2 years, he opened Curwensville Florist in 1948 and with his wife operated it for 40 years until 1988 when he semi-retired.  He served in the U S Army Air Corps during World War II flying in B-25’s as a tail gunner.
 
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Curwensville and was a former member of the Curwensville Lions Club and Curwensville Noble Lodge #480 F. & A. M.
 
On February 25, 1948 in the Bethel Baptist Church in Sykesville, he wed the former Edna R. Buhite who survives along with4 children:  Kenneth L. Reiter of Oklahoma City, OK, Susan F. Lezzer and husband Dennis and Ronald G. Reiter and wife Mary Kay both of Curwensville, and Timothy S. Reiter of Coatesville.
 
Also surviving are 7 grandchildren: Holly Tkacik and husband John, Andrew Reiter, Kayla Reiter and Alicia Lezzer and husband James all of Curwensville, Heidi Bloom and husband Andy of Clearfield, Charles Banas and fiancée Wendy German of Duncansville, and Joseph Reiter and wife Rachel of Emmaus.  In addition there are 7 great grandchildren and a sister Dolores Harris and husband Robert of Indian Trail, NC.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great grandson.
 
Funeral Services for Mr. Reiter will be held at the First Baptist Church, Susquehanna Ave. Ext., Curwensville, on Sunday July 14, 2013 at 2:30 PM with the Reverend Daniel Osterhout officiating.  Interment will be in the Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
 
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. in Curwensville on Saturday July 13 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and Sunday from 1:30 to 2:30 at the church.
 
The family suggests contributions be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund P.O. Box 312 Curwensville, PA  16833
