Born September 29, 1932 in Spangler (Northern Cambria), PA, he was the son of Clifford and Caroline (Yeager) Gill. Mr. Gill was retired from the Curwensville Borough as a heavy equipment operator after 42 years of service. He was a U S Army Veteran of the Korean War era.
He was affiliated with St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville, was a 50 Year Life Member of the Rescue Hose and Ladder Co. in Curwensville and was a former of the Curwensville American Legion.
Mr. Gill enjoyed hunting, tinkering in his garage, and Polka Music. His three favorite TV shows were “Friends”, “Big Bang Theory” and “Gunsmoke” and he was an avid reader of paperback westerns and enjoyed watching movie westerns.
On October 1, 1955 in Winchester, VA, he wed the former Alice Johnson who preceded him in death on December 14, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister Shirley Gates and a brother Frank Gill.
Surviving is his daughter Cynthia R. Gill of Curwensville; a sister Marilyn Thrasher of Connellsville; 2 nieces Lisa Maddas and husband Pat of Pittsburgh and Renee Stewart of Greensburg; 4 nephews Francis, James, Bobby, and Kenny Gill; and a great niece Mia Maddas.
Funeral Services for Glenn Gill will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Monday November 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Father Mark Mastrian officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Curwensville.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday November 7 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and again on Monday from 10:00 Am until time of services at 11:00 AM. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
