Obituary for Grace Elizabeth Starr
Grace Elizabeth Starr, 90, of Grampian, passed away Thursday may 7, 2009 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center, West.
Born July 5, 1918 in Bloom Township, she was the daughter of Melvin and Cecelia (Shuberts) Gelnett. Mrs. Starr was a homemaker and was working for Stanley Products for the past 37 years. She was Lutheran by Faith, had attended the Curwensville Wednesday Morning Craft Classes, and had been a member of the Walston Ladies Club, Walston, PA.

On December 6, 1941 she wed James E. Starr who preceded her in death on November 11, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son William Starr, infant sister Cecelia Helen Gelnett, infant brother Charles Gelnett, and brothers Perry, Donald, William, and Howard Gelnett.

Surviving are 9 children: Perry Starr of Grampian RD, Helen Dunlap and husband Daniel and James Starr and wife Millie both of DuBois, Inez Peterson of Kansas City, MO., Mabel Tersine and husband Anthony of Punxsutawney, John Starr and wife Jeanette of Curwensville, Mary E. Tersine of Homer City, PA, Patricia Hand and husband Harold of Hope Mills, NC, and Randy Starr and wife Joyce of Luthersburg.

Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 2 sisters and a brother. John L. Gelnett and Gertrude Gearhart both of DuBois, and Mary King and husband Ernest of Virginia.

Services for Mrs. Starr will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Tuesday May 12, 2009 at 2:00 PM, with the Reverend Charles M. Lee Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery, Grampian RD.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday May 11, 2009 from 5 to 9 PM, and Tuesday from 10 AM until time of services.
