Obituary for Gregory Lynn Thompson
Gregory Lynn Thompson, 54, of Grampian, passed away Tuesday February 19, 2019 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh after a lengthy illness.
Born September 22, 1964 in Philipsburg, he was the son of Gerald Wayne Thompson and Beverly Ailene (Dixon) Thompson Welder. Mr. Thompson was a truck driver and a carpenter. He attended the Woodland Church of Christ.
He was a member of the GPB Vol. Fire Company in Grampian and the Community Volunteer Fire Co. in Mahaffey where he was also a member of the Fire Police.
Surviving is his mother and stepfather Samuel Welder of Grampian, 2 brothers and a sister. Gerald Wayne Thompson II and wife Jamie of Ohio and Debra Condon and Lee Welder and wife Michelle both of Curwensville. Also surviving are 3 nieces, 5 nephews and several great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, his maternal grandparents Robert Dixon and Edna Dixon Graham and his paternal grandparents Ruth Thompson Knepp Wilkes and Eldon Knepp.
Funeral Services for Gregory Thompson will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Saturday February 23, 2019 at 2:00 PM, with Thomas DeLong, Assistant Pastor of the DuBois Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in the Summit Hill Cemetery, Wallaceton.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday February 22 from 5 to 8 PM and again on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until time of services at 2 PM.
