Obituary for Howard C. Schlicking Jr.
Howard C. Schickling Jr., 80, of Clearfield, passed away Monday November 30, 2009 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center, West.
Born October 26, 1929 in Clearfield he was the son of Howard Sr. and Elizabeth (Rogers) Schickling. He worked for Lingle Coal Company and was retired from Penn Traffic/Riverside Grocery in Clearfield. He was a member of the Glen Richey Volunteer Fire Company.
On August 9, 1950 in Winchester, VA, he wed Catheryn Robbins who survives along with 3 daughters; Linda Hipps and her husband Ferman of Clearfield, Terry Hess and her husband Graham and Wendy Ammerman and her husband Carl both of Millerstown, PA. 7 grandchildren Alan Hipps Todd Hipps Beth Hipps, Richard Hess, Amber Hess Hoover, Steven Ammerman, Daniel Ammerman and 2 great grandchildren.
Also surviving is a brother Lester Schickling and his wife Carol of Clearfield and 3 sisters; Harriet Coder, Lois Leitzinger and her husband James both of Clearfield and Dona Stairs and her husband William of Clayton, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Louise Serena and a brother John, “Jack” Schickling.
At the request of Mr. Schickling there will be no public viewing. Private committal services will be held at the convenience of the family at Pine Grove Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Duane A. White officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Glen Richey Volunteer
Fire Company or a charity of the donors choice.
