Obituary for Inez Jean Tobias
Inez Jean Tobias, 90, of Fruit Hill, New Millport, passed away early Thursday morning January 6, 2022 at Penn Highlands Hospital – DuBois.
Born December 22, 1931 in Fruit Hill, Jordan Township, she was the daughter of Harry and Oma J. (Bloom) Tobias. Ms. Tobias had worked for MacGregor Sportswear in Curwensville, Kent’s Sportswear in Curwensville, and was retired from Bayer Clothing Group in Clearfield.
She was a member of the Fruit Hill Presbyterian Church and the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America Local #118c.
Surviving are four children: Delbert Tobias (Helen) and Tim Tobias (Maryann)
both of New Millport, Ruby Anderson (Joe) of Clearfield, and Luanne Shoffner (Dave) of Madera.
Also surviving are six grandchildren: Garrett Tobias (Maylenn), Michael Anderson (Courtney), Brittany Haney (Andy), Danielle Bumbarger (Tyler), Megan Shoffner, and Dylan Shoffner; and twelve great grandchildren: Timmy, Joey, Colby, Caleb, Bailee, Madison, Urijah, Wesley, Ellie, Alonna, Jaxon, and Mackenzie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Alma Swatsworth and Avanelle Vaughn. She was the last member of her generation.
Funeral Services for Inez Tobias will be held at the Fruit Hill Presbyterian Church * Fruit Hill Road * New Millport, PA 16861 on Tuesday January 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor LeAnn Gill-Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the Fruit Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Monday January 10, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM.
