Obituary for Jack Searle
Jack Searle, 91, of Curwensville, passed away Saturday October 16, 2021 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
He was born August 20, 1930 in Pittsburgh, and was raised in Clearfield by John and Lulu Briggs. Mr. Searle was retired from the Telecommunications industry, having worked for Bell Telephone, AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Nokia as an installer and deskman. He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War having served in Okinawa.
He was a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church where he was active in the annual “Search for Peace” Pageant for over 40 years as well as other various committees within the church, was a member and past president of the Bell Telephone Pioneers, and was a member of the Curwensville American Legion.
He enjoyed bowling and golfing in both team leagues and couple’s leagues, but he especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s various activities and spending time with his family and friends.
On August 19, 1954 he wed the former Jennie Lee Marshall who after 65 years together, preceded him in death on October 20, 2019. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister Imogene Baumgardner and a son-in-law Edward Lindenberger.
Surviving are two daughters: Lee Ann Lindenberger of Erie and Judy Drake and husband Kenton of DuBois. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Jesse Lindenberger of Atlantic City, NJ, Jennie Donohue and husband Mike of Erie, Corry Drake and wife Dana of Churchill, and Dylan Drake and wife Ami of Greensburg; and five great grandchildren: Levi and Waylen Drake of Churchill, Elisha and Misha Drake of Greensburg, and Eliana Donohue of Erie as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Jack Searle will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. in Curwensville on Sunday October 24, 2021 at 4:00 PM, with the Reverend John F. White officiating. Interment will be in the Styers Cemetery LLC in Hyde.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Sunday from 1:00 PM until time of services at 4:00 PM. Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.
