James A. “Ardie” DuFour
Curwensville: James A. “Ardie” DuFour 88 of Grampian passed away Saturday December 10. 2022 at Penn Highlands Dubois.
Born December 2, 1934 in Grampian, he was the son of Alec and Ruth (Fredricks) DuFour. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was a truck driver for Peerless Trucking and retired from Thomas Coal Company as a heavy equipment operator.
He was Methodist by faith.
On January 12, 1957 at St. Bonaventure’s Roman Catholic Church in Grampian he wed the former Donna Danvir who survives along with 4 children Diane Hoyt (Thomas) of Grampian, Stephen A. DuFour (Ruth Ann) of Curwensville, Twila Anderson (Jeff) Grampian, and James A. DuFour (Lahana) of Pataskala, OH. 4 grandchildren Steffanie DuFour, Tomi Hoyt, Travis Anderson (Kara), and Alex DuFour, 2 step grandchildren Sherry McCracken (Barry) and Jackie Seger (Matthew). 3 great grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren, and 1 step great great grandchildren. 4 sisters Hazel Weber of Curwensville, Doris Solley of Grampian, Delores Miller of Hughesville, and Ruth Hodgon (Gerald) of NY. And numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 6 brothers Arthur, Lewis, George, Ernest, Gerald, Robert DuFour.
Funeral Services for Mr. DuFour will be held Saturday December 17, 2022 at 11 AM at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville with Pastor Rick Butler officiating. Military honors will be presented by members of the Clearfield Honor Guard. Interment will be held in the Friends Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Friday December 16, 2022 from 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 10 AM till the time of services at 11 AM.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hahne Cancer Center, 100 Hospital Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801.
