Obituary for James Boyd Strong
James Boyd Strong, 77, of Curwensville, passed away Saturday evening March 2, 2013 at Mt. Laurel Nursing and rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.
 
Born December 31, 1935 in Berwinsdale, PA, he was the son of George and Marion (Straw) Strong.  Mr. Strong had been employed at the Westover Tannery.  He also had driven garbage truck and worked in the woods.  He was a former member of the Curwensville L.O.O.M. #268.
 
Surviving are 3 sons Joseph Strong and wife Tracey and Thomas Strong both of Curwensville, John Strong and wife Mary Ann of Mahaffey and a daughter Lillian Shaddix of SC. 
 
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 sisters.  Jean O’Dell and husband Jerry of Grampian, Shirlene Hudson and husband Dave of Curwensville and Letha Queen of Irvona.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons Dwayne and David Strong and 2 grandchildren Alicia Strong and David Strong Jr.
 
Services for Mr. Strong will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville, on Thursday March 7, 2013 at 11 AM, with the Reverend Daniel Osterhout officiating.  Interment will be in the Fruit Hill Cemetery New Millport.
 
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday March 6, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, and Thursday from 10 AM until time of services.
