James C. “Jim” Fleming Jr.
DuBois: James C. “Jim” Fleming Jr.,78, of Grampian passed away Tuesday February 24, 2026 at DuBois Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
Born June 6, 1947 in Clearfield he was the son of James C. and Velma J. (Bunnell) Fleming Sr. He was a 1965 graduate of Curwensville Area High School where he was class president. He was a United States Army Veteran serving his country during the Vietnam War.
He was a Pennsylvania State Police Officer and retired after 25 years of service. He owned and operated James C. Fleming general contracting for 30 years. And co-owned and operated Eagles Ridge Golf Club for 11 years.
Jim loved his family, enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren sporting events, activities, musical concerts. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He especially loved to travel with his family and sightsee at historical landmarks.
He was a member of St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church in Grampian, where he served at lector. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association, and the Fraternal Order of Police.
On April 24, 1971 he wed Andrea (Zabreski) Fleming who survives of Grampian. Along with three Children James C. “Jim” Fleming III and his wife Tina of Curwensville, Christopher “Chris” Fleming of Grampian, and Anna M. Schirling and her husband Kenneth "Ken" of Port Matilda. Five Grandchildren Michael J. Fleming (Meredith) of Severn, MD, Jorja Rae Fleming, Davis W. Fleming both of Curwensville, Haley S. Schirling, and Caroline A. Schirling both of Port Matilda. Brothers and Sisters Prescilla Habovick (Donald) of Howard, Judith Fleming of Palm Meadow, FL, John Fleming (Carol) of Pittsburgh, and Debra DuFour of Martinsburg, WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Nancie Fleming.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in care of the Curwensville Alumni Association, 650 Beech Street, Curwensville, PA 16833.
The family would like to thank the following for their tremendous care: Curwensville Rescue Hose and Ladder Ambulance service, Allegheny General Hospital Pittsburgh, Select Specialty Hospital Johnstown, Penn Highlands DuBois, the Grampian Lion’s Club, Dubois Nursing Home, and to the VA for their many years of support through his battle with Agent Orange complications.
