Obituary for James Donald Murray
James Donald Murray, 78, of Echo Glen, Grampian, passed away Thursday January 26, 2012 at his residence.
 
Born September 7, 1933 in Milford, Delaware, he was the son of Herbert and Jeannettee (Heath) Murray.  Mr. Murray was a truck driver having retired from J & G Trucking.  He was a Naval Veteran of the Korean War.
 
He was a founding member and past Commander of the Mansfield, Mass. VFW, and a member of the DuBois VFW.
 
On June 19, 1994 in Ft. Myers, FL, he wed the former Nancy (McCall) Learish who survives along with 8 children known as the “DEM’s” children: Donna E. Fisher and husband Robert, David E. Murray and wife Darlene, and Denice E. Parente and husband Stephen all of Mansfield, Mass., Douglas E. Murray and wife Michelle and Debra E. Dowdall and husband Joseph both of Attleboro, Mass., D’Wayne E. Murray and wife Cindy of Waterford, PA, Dennis E. Murray of Florida, and Darryle E. Murray and wife Amber of Mill Village, PA.
 
Also surviving is his mother-in-law Eva McCall Nolder of Echo Glenn, 2 step-children Kenneth Learish and wife Marsha and Kimberly Musser and husband Robbie, both of DuBois. 23 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a great grandchild on the way, 6 step grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild and a step great grandchild on the way.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers William and Robert Murray.
 
A Memorial Service for James D. Murray will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Saturday February 4, 2012 at 10:00 AM, with the Reverends Charles Lee and Kevin Beard co-officiating.  Interment will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Grampian.
 
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until time of services.
 
The family suggests contributions be made to either the Clearfield County S.P.C.A. 51 Graham Station Road Philipsburg, PA 16866, or the Orphans of the Storm 412 Hill Street Curwensville, PA 16833.
