Obituary for James Porter Wiggins
James Porter Wiggins, 91, of Curwensville, passed away Thursday June 3, 2021 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College, PA.
Born February 17, 1930 in Shelocta, PA, he was the son of Thomas Walker and Laura Viola (Petticord) Wiggins. Mr. Wiggins was a self-employed truck driver having drove for 58 years.
He was affiliated with the Curwensville Presbyterian Church, was a lifetime member of the Curwensville L.O.O.M., and was a member of the former Armstrong Grange.
On November 21, 1948 in New Mine, PA, he wed the former Leona Pearl Hazlett who survives along with eight children: Carol Round, Bonnie Sabol and husband Alex, and Timothy Wiggins, all of Curwensville; Dennis Wiggins and Brenda Wiggins, both of Ocala, FL; Debbie Montgomery of Chambersburg, PA, Patricia Lanich of Carlisle; and Roger Wiggins and wife Jamie of Wallaceton.
Also surviving are: Fifteen Grandchildren, Twenty-two Great Grandchildren, and Six Great Great Grandchildren, and two sisters: Thelma Baker of Saltsburg, PA and Nancy LaManta of Holden, MA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Paul, Thomas Jr., and Lyle Wiggins.
Funeral Services for Mr. Wiggins will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Tuesday June 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Gary B. Jewart officiating. Interment will be in the Styers Cemetery in Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until time of services at 2:00 PM
