James “Teddy” Zwolski
Curwensville: James Zwolski “Teddy” 88 of Curwensville passed away Thursday September 21, 2023.
Born June 6, 1935 in Curwensville he was the son of Walter, Sr. and Agnes (Paluch) Zwolski.
Jim was a 1955 graduate of Curwensville Area High School. He served his country in the US Army while stationed in Germany from 1955-1957. He retired in May 1991 from Penelec after 31 years of service in the utility construction maintenance.
He was Catholic by faith; being a lifelong member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Curwensville.
Jim enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, camping and growing large pumpkins, his biggest weighing in at 711 pounds.
On April 28, 1962, he wed Jacqueline (Williams) Zwolski whom preceded him in death on March 3, 2019.
He is survived by the following nieces and nephews Barbara Johnson (Michael) of Grampian, Edward Zwolski Jr. (Susan) Clearfield, Catherine Workman (Gregory) Lock Haven, Jason Zwolski of Curwensville, Carol Luzier (Richard) of St. Mary’s, Edward and wife Kathie, William, Joseph, and wife Carol and Louise Gordon (Jim) all of Buffalo, NY, James Zwolski of Florida, and Edward, Donald, and Diane Brzezinski of California. He is also survived by several grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five sisters Helen Brzezinski, Ann Nowocien, Mary Ross, Margaret McLaughlin, and Jeanette Zwolski; three brothers Joseph, Walter Jr., and Edward Sr.; an infant sister and four infant brothers Henry, William, Walter and John. Two Infant nephews and two nieces Margaret Engel and Marie Gallagher.
He was the last member of his generation.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at St. Timothy Catholic Church on Tuesday September 26, 2023 at 10 AM with Rev. Father Stephen Collins as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Clearfield Honor Guard.
Friends and family will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Monday September 25, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Tuesday from 9-9:30 AM.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Curwensville Public Library 601 Beech Street, Curwensville, PA 16833, and St. Timothy Catholic Church 306 Walnut Street Curwensville, PA 16833.
